We have secured £5.3 million in funding for revenue projects, examples include employability programs, female safety, youth clubs, knife crime workshops, warm spaces, holiday activities and food programs. The funding covers costs including staffing, operating costs, equipment and general core running costs.
Growing Healthy Minds CIC were a new CIC when they started working with We Raise The Game. Based in North East Lincs, they were set up to help the community in the East Marsh. The CIC runs out of the The Canopy Community Hub, which is a café, gym and community hub all rolled into one.
The café provides free child meals throughout the year with the support of local businesses. We have helped them secure funding from The National Lottery, Children In Need, Police Crime Commissioner, Sport England and Clothworkers. This funding has been used to provide seated exercise and yoga, air fryer cooking sessions for families, the building of a new community gym and CCTV cameras to make the area more secure.
We supported former Commonwealth featherweight champion Jordan Gill in his dream to set up a Community Interest Company in his hometown of March in Fenland.
We incorporated the CIC back in 2019 and have been on hand for bid writing services and developmental support ever since. We helped secure a room in the local community centre, which is now used as a community boxing gym.
JG have been successful in applications for Children In Need, National Lottery, Sport England, UK Youth, Postcode Lottery, Clothworkers and Fenland volunteering. This funding has enabled them to fully kit out their gym with equipment.
They have purchased a minibus to do outreach work and help with transport for those less able. They run projects for young people not in education and training, box and brew sessions for over 55s and a Parkinson’s program to help people with the condition build their strength and balance.
Rotherham Titans are a great example of how we can help with large-scale development projects. We were successful in securing funding through the Youth Investment Fund for a new youth building on the grounds of the rugby club. We worked with Titans on the project from start to finish, ensuring they had all the necessary elements to be able to make the bid, such as planning permission and drawings.
We were then able to link them up with a reputable builder to undertake the work. We’ve also supported them with applications to Garfield Weston, Postcode Lottery, Sport England and National Lottery to help them with core costs as well as their project work. Titans are working with young people with SEND, men’s mental health, and healthy eating workshops, including their own app.
Athletic Boxing CIC is a great example of what a small community-led organisation can achieve in a short space of time. In the past 12 months we have supported them to secure funding for projects that use fitness and well-being to bring people together, tackle isolation and improve mental health. From youth development programs to inclusive community sessions Athletic has continued to grow its impact across Skellow and the wider Doncaster area.
